Here is an opportunity to join the team at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as a Painter-General Labor-Maintenance worker with SSC Services for Education. We are hiring immediately for both full-time and part-time positions, with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the campus, performing everything from painting and minor repairs to groundskeeping and event setup. The pay range is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience. What You Will Be Doing
- You will provide quality customer service by maintaining a sharp attention to detail in all your work.
- You will clean and polish furniture and fixtures to keep them looking their best.
- You will perform minor repairs to doors, fixtures, and furniture as needed.
- You will record information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
- You will make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- You will regularly replace HVAC air filters to maintain air quality and system efficiency.
- You will monitor building security and safety by locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use.
- You will move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies either manually or using hand trucks.
- You will mow and trim lawns and shrubbery using mowers and hand or power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
- You will notify managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building systems.
- You will remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas when needed.
- You will set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events.
- You will perform ad-hoc cleaning of building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- You will gather and empty trash, and service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- You may drive vehicles required to perform work duties.
- You will perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the campus.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior painting experience is preferred, but we value a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- A valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license may be required.
- You are able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

- You have a positive attitude and are ready to take on a variety of tasks each day.
