Key Responsibilities
As a Flatbed Driver for Division 295, you will be entrusted with the safe transport of vital industrial goods. Your core duties will include:
- Safely operating a late-model flatbed truck to transport freight such as building materials, machinery, steel, and specialty metals.
- Securing all loads properly, which includes physically lifting and positioning heavy tarps. Our drivers tarp approximately 70% of loads.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining all required documentation and electronic logs.
- Planning routes and managing schedules to ensure timely pickups and deliveries throughout the regional route.
- Representing System Transport with professionalism at every customer site and on the road.
Qualifications
We are looking for safe, reliable drivers who meet the following requirements to join our team.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is mandatory.
- You must be at least 21 years of age.
- A minimum of 4 months of verifiable driving experience is required; 1 year or more is preferred.
- A safe driving record with no more than 6 jobs held in the last three years.
- You must pass a background check, a clean drug test, and have a clear FMCSA Clearinghouse result.
- This is a physically demanding flatbed role. You must be able to lift a 90-pound tarp onto a 5-foot platform, a task you will be tested on during orientation.
