Key Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you will be the front line of support for our clients, ensuring their systems are reliable and fully functional. Your daily tasks will include:
- Providing on-site service support to restore functionality to customer audiovisual and collaboration systems.
- Performing preventative maintenance visits to clean equipment and proactively ensure system stability.
- Installing and updating control system programs (AMX/Crestron) and firmware on-site.
- Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and architectural blueprints to troubleshoot and install systems.
- Setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting various equipment, including video conferencing codecs and networked devices.
- Completing installation tasks such as pulling cable, installing connectors, and mounting displays or ceiling projectors.
- Adhering to all OSHA safety standards in every aspect of the job.
Qualifications
We are looking for a technician with a solid foundation in AV and a proactive work ethic. The right candidate will have:
Must-Have Skills and Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think independently to solve problems.
- Knowledge of basic audio, video, and control signal flow.
- The ability to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues and customers.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, along with the ability to solder and crimp connectors.
- Basic computer literacy and the capability to manage small to medium projects.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various customer job sites.
Nice-to-Have Experience and Credentials (Preferred):
- A minimum of 2-4 years of professional audiovisual integration experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; formal education in Electronics or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry platforms like AMX, Crestron, or Extron.
- An AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification.
