Key Responsibilities
As the lead technician, you will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance and technical leadership of a team supporting critical MQ-9 operations.
- Lead a team of avionics technicians in daily organizational-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of MQ-9 aircraft and Ground Control Station (GCS) electronic systems.
- Apply expert technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex avionics problems that go beyond standard manuals, using advanced test equipment and analytical skills.
- Perform all daily launch and recovery duties for operational missions and maintain critical aircraft electrical systems, including generators, actuators, and instruments.
- Serve as a technical authority and Quality Assurance (QA) representative, making entries in aircraft logs, signing off work in maintenance systems (NALCOMIS/OOMA/IMDS), and providing training to junior technicians.
- Maintain, repair, and install various electronic devices and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support deployments to various CONUS and OCONUS locations as part of a deployment pool, meeting all pre-deployment and travel requirements.
Qualifications
This role requires an individual with significant, specialized experience and the ability to obtain necessary clearances.
Minimum Requirements:
- An active U.S. Secret Government Security Clearance within the last 12 months (U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain this clearance).
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus eight (8) years of actual Aircraft Avionics and/or GCS maintenance experience.
- Three (3) years of specific experience on MQ-9 aircraft and/or GCS as an Avionics Technician.
- Must have been designated a CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) or Red-X inspector for MQ-9 aircraft.
- Advanced knowledge of technical publications, mechanical maintenance, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds, travel on deployments, and possess a valid U.S. Passport with sufficient blank pages.
- Current state driver’s license and ability to obtain a flight-line Government Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supervising small teams.
- MQ-9 Avionics Technician experience within the last two (2) years, including at least one (1) year on both aircraft and GCS.
- An Associate degree in a relevant field, a current IAT Level II Certification, or prior deployment/defense contractor experience.
