Key Responsibilities

Your day will be dynamic, ensuring our products get where they need to be efficiently and securely. Your core duties will involve:

  • Safely operating our Class 4 trucks, expertly manoeuvring the fitted HIAB crane to load and unload long steel products in compliance with all NZ transport regulations.
  • Taking full responsibility for your load, from careful pick-up and secure strapping to on-time delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Performing regular pre-start checks and maintenance reports for both the truck and crane to ensure everything is in perfect working order.
  • Applying your physical fitness to daily manual handling tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling materials as part of the delivery and warehouse process.
  • Assisting the wider team with general warehouse and store duties when you’re not on a delivery run, contributing to the smooth running of our branch operations.
  • Upholding our strong safety culture every single day, helping to foster a positive and team-focused work environment for everyone.

Qualifications

To hit the ground running in this role, you’ll need:

  • A full, clean Class 2 or 4 New Zealand driver’s licence—this is absolutely essential.
  • Practical experience operating a HIAB crane; we provide training, but a foundational understanding of safe lifting practices for long steel products is key.
  • A current forklift licence and confidence using it in a busy yard or warehouse setting.
  • The physical capability to handle the demands of the role, including regular lifting and manual tasks.
  • A reliable, self-motivated approach and a genuine team-player attitude—we achieve more together.
  • Basic computer skills for managing delivery documentation and compliance records.

Previous experience delivering building supplies or similar products would be a great advantage, but your attitude and safety focus are most important.
