Key Responsibilities
In this varied role, you’ll wear two hats, keeping our Christchurch site running efficiently. Your core tasks will include:
- Managing the day-to-day warehouse operations, from receiving and put-away to order picking and dispatch, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
- Safely operating forklifts and reach trucks to move stock, maintaining a tidy and organised warehouse at all times.
- Handling manual tasks, including regular heavy lifting, as part of processing incoming and outgoing goods.
- Taking to the road for local deliveries as required, representing our company professionally with every customer interaction.
- Working closely with the local sales and admin team to prioritise tasks and support overall branch objectives.
- Proactively managing your daily workload, showing initiative to identify what needs to be done and completing tasks reliably.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a practical mindset and the right tickets. We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment and a real attention to detail.
- Current and valid forklift and reach certification – this is essential.
- The physical fitness and capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout the day.
- A self-motivated, can-do attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A Class 2 driver’s licence is highly preferable. For the right candidate with a Class 1 licence, we are open to discussing training and support after a successful initial trial period.
