Key Responsibilities
As a Driver Guide, you will be an essential part of creating a memorable and safe experience from the moment guests step on board. Your primary duties will include:
- Safely transporting guests to and from New Zealand’s premier hiking tracks, adhering to all road safety regulations and company protocols.
- Providing warm, friendly, and excellent customer service, making every guest feel welcomed and excited for their adventure.
- Offering engaging commentary and sharing general knowledge about the local area, flora, fauna, and history to enhance the scenic journey.
- Ensuring all vehicle safety and passenger endorsement obligations are met, with a strong focus on passenger wellbeing.
- Representing New Zealand tourism with pride and enthusiasm, acting as a positive ambassador for both the company and the country’s natural heritage.
Qualifications
This role requires specific licenses and a genuine passion for people and place. The essential qualifications are:
- A current New Zealand Class 1 driver’s license with a Passenger (P) endorsement. Overseas licenses are not accepted; you must transfer and gain the NZ endorsement before applying.
- Excellent verbal English communication skills for clear interaction with guests and commentary.
- Proven customer service experience and a natural ability to connect with people.
- A valid right to work in New Zealand.
- A clean driving record and willingness to provide a copy of your driving history.
- A genuine passion for the outdoors, tourism, and creating outstanding guest experiences.
