The City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a dedicated Horticulture professional to join our Parks and Strategic Operations team. About the Role
Based at our Turvey Park depot, you will work as an integral member of the Horticulture Team, directly contributing to the high standard of our city’s green spaces. Reporting to the Team Leader Parks Operations, your work will involve a hands-on mix of garden establishment, maintenance, and the operation of specialised equipment. Your Key Responsibilities
Your expertise will help maintain Wagga Wagga’s reputation for beautiful and well-kept public spaces.
- Establish and maintain garden beds, lawns, and landscape areas, including planting, pruning, mulching, and weeding.
- Perform tree maintenance activities and manage plant pest and disease control.
- Operate and maintain a range of small plant and equipment, such as mowers, brush cutters, and irrigation systems.
- Implement soil and sediment control measures and assist with irrigation management.
- Work collaboratively within the team to ensure all horticultural tasks are completed to a high standard, safely and efficiently.
- Contribute to the overall presentation and health of key areas including Riverside precincts.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- A relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Horticulture.
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence (an MR Licence is desirable).
- AQF Level 3 Chemical Accreditation.
- A current General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- In accordance with WHS legislation, vaccination for Hepatitis B is required.
