Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for executing high-quality welding that meets stringent project specifications. Your core duties include:
- Performing Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) for field installations based on project blueprints and written instructions.
- Reading and interpreting complex project plans, diagrams, and blueprints to guide your work accurately.
- Installing and welding various components, including ductwork, fixtures, vents, fans, and structural metal sheeting.
- Selecting appropriate filler materials and performing necessary grinding and deburring to achieve proper finish and fit.
- Coordinating effectively with field labor crews to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
- Strictly adhering to all safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for maintaining a safe worksite.
- Maintaining and using your own required hand tools for each job.
Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified professional who meets the following criteria:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Welder, with proven expertise in Flux-Core (FCAW) welding. Experience with STICK (SMAW) and TIG (GTAW) is a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and construction plans with precision.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and the tools of the trade.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Possession of an OSHA 10 or MSHA certification, a TWIC card, and industrial machine licenses (e.g., forklift) are preferred assets.
- Must have reliable transportation and possess the required personal hand tools.
