Key Responsibilities
As a Facilities Cleaner, you will be the guardian of our public spaces, ensuring they are presented to the highest standard. Your core duties will include:
- Traveling between various council facilities across the stunning Mackenzie District to perform cleaning tasks.
- Ensuring all public toilets are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and restocked, maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
- Emptying rubbish and recycling bins at parks, reserves, and other public areas.
- Cleaning the interior and exterior of council facilities, including windows, floors, and surfaces.
- Working effectively as part of the Parks and Reserves team to manage the workload and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
- Demonstrating pride in your work to help showcase our district in the best possible light.
Qualifications
We are looking for reliable, physically fit individuals who are ready to take on this important community role. To be successful, you will need:
- A full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence (essential for travel between sites).
- Relevant cleaning experience (essential).
- The ability and willingness to work at least one day every weekend as part of your roster (essential).
- To be physically fit, self-motivated, and health and safety conscious with a positive attitude.
- The ability to work well both independently on your route and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand (NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa).
