St Andrews, located in the sunny Kew area of Dunedin, is a 78-bed care home known for its quality care and supportive environment, holding a 3-year Ministry of Health certification. Key Responsibilities

As a Housekeeper in our care home, you will play a crucial role in the daily life of our community. Your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Performing a range of cleaning and housekeeping tasks throughout the facility to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.
  • Thoroughly cleaning resident bedrooms, ensuring personal spaces are tidy, respectful, and sanitary.
  • Cleaning and sanitising shared areas, including bathrooms, showers, and toilets.
  • Working effectively without direct supervision, managing your time to complete all tasks within your shift.
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the home by being a reliable and positive member of the team.
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and infection control protocols to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

We are looking for a compassionate and conscientious individual who aligns with our values. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be honest, reliable, and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised, using initiative and common sense.
  • Possess good time management skills and the flexibility to respond to changing circumstances.
  • Have effective communication skills to interact respectfully with the team and residents.
  • Be available to work the set weekend hours: 9 hours per week, worked as 4.5 hours each on Saturday and Sunday (9:00 AM – 1:30 PM).
  • A competitive hourly wage of $19.66.
  • Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand.
