Key Responsibilities
As a Skitube Train Driver, you will be entrusted with a significant operational responsibility. Your core duties will include:
- Safely and efficiently operating trains on the Skitube alpine railway network in strict accordance with all timetables and procedures.
- Maintaining unwavering vigilance and focus under pressure to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff.
- Following all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the regulations of the Rail Safety National Law 2012 without exception.
- Providing a high-quality, professional experience for every guest travelling on the railway.
- Working effectively as part of a close-knit operations team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
- Adhering to a rotating roster that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays throughout the winter season.
Qualifications
This role has non-negotiable requirements. You must be able to confidently answer “YES” to all of the following:
- Possess a strong, proven safety mindset and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
- Pass a pre-employment Category 1 rail medical, which includes drug and alcohol testing.
- Consent to and pass random, post-incident, and targeted drug and alcohol testing at any time during employment.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work a rotating roster across the entire winter season (June – October 2026), including unsociable hours.
- Training Commitment: Ability to successfully complete intensive classroom, practical, and assessment-based training.
