Warehouse Associate Wanted In Japan

We are looking for an Inside Sales/Warehouse Associate to join our Arnold, Missouri retail branch. You will work directly with industrial and commercial customers, selling and supporting industrial gases, medical gases, specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment. One hour you might be assisting a fabricator with the right shielding gas mixture; the next, you could be operating a forklift, unloading cylinders, or filling non-flammable gases according to strict procedures. If you enjoy variety, working with your hands, and building relationships with customers who rely on your product knowledge, this role offers both challenge and stability.

Company Overview

We are a established supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, serving fabricators, manufacturers, healthcare facilities, and contractors across the region. Our Arnold branch operates as a full-service retail and distribution hub—customers walk through our doors expecting not just product, but expertise.

Unlike a pure retail environment, we are also a working warehouse and, at this location, a cylinder filling operation. Our team members need to be comfortable shifting between counter sales, material handling, and technical filling tasks. Safety is non-negotiable. Product knowledge is expected. Customer service is the standard. If you are looking for a role where no two days are exactly the same and your contribution is visible across sales, operations, and logistics, this is the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Service

  • Proactively sell industrial gases, welding supplies, consumables, and related equipment to walk-in customers and established commercial accounts.
  • Provide accurate technical product information, application guidance, and professional support to fabricators, contractors, and industrial end-users.
  • Prepare and process all sales-related documentation, including quotes, invoices, order forms, and credit applications.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom displays that help customers find what they need quickly.
  • Support day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure customer orders are accurate and ready for pickup or dispatch.
  • Build repeat business through knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient service.

Warehouse and Material Handling

  • Load and unload compressed gas cylinders and hardgoods for customer pickups and delivery trucks.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and competently.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory management, stocking, and general warehouse housekeeping.
  • Manage delivery logistics for cylinders and hardgoods, coordinating with drivers and dispatch as needed.

Cylinder Filling and Inspection (Arnold Location)

  • Fill cryogenic liquids and pure non-flammable industrial gases in accordance with established Fill Plant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Set and monitor pressure gauges to ensure cylinders are filled to prescribed levels.
  • Weigh cylinders to verify correct fill weight and adjust as necessary.
  • Vent and adjust cylinders to achieve specified pressure and weight parameters.
  • Inspect empty cylinders for dents, cracks, burns, thread damage, or other defects prior to filling.
  • Identify cylinders requiring quarantine for further inspection or re-qualification.
  • Move cylinders manually or using material-handling equipment throughout the filling and storage areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, warehouse operations, or a combination thereof.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced retail/industrial environment with shifting priorities.
  • Physically capable of lifting, moving, and handling compressed gas cylinders and hardgoods weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Forklift operation experience or willingness to obtain certification (training provided).
  • Basic computer skills for order entry, inventory lookup, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a small branch team.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred:

  • Experience in industrial gas, welding supply, or related technical distribution.
  • Product knowledge of compressed gases, regulators, torches, filler metals, and welding safety equipment.
  • Previous cylinder filling experience or familiarity with SOP-driven technical processes.
  • Ability to read pressure gauges, scales, and basic measurement instruments.
  • Flexibility to assist with opening/closing procedures and occasional schedule adjustments.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive hourly pay between $19.00 and $22.00 per hour, with a median total pay of $20.50.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with employer matching, dental insurance, disability insurance, health insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.
  • Employee discount on products great for welding and fabrication enthusiasts.
  • Varied, engaging work. No two days are the same; you will rotate between sales, warehouse, and technical filling tasks.
  • Hands-on technical environment. You will learn cylinder filling, gas properties, and industrial equipment applications.
  • Small branch team culture. Your contribution is visible and valued.
  • Stability. Industrial and medical gas demand is consistent year-round.
  • Opportunity to build customer relationships and develop product expertise over time.

How to Apply

If you are comfortable behind a sales counter, on a forklift, and at a cylinder fill station and you are looking for a role that combines all three—we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume through the application portal or contact details provided in the job posting.

In your cover letter or email, briefly describe:

  • Your relevant experience in sales, warehouse operations, or industrial-technical distribution.
  • Your forklift operation experience or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Your familiarity with compressed gases, welding supplies, or related products (if applicable).
  • Your availability and hourly expectations.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview and, where applicable, a site visit to our Arnold branch to see the sales floor, warehouse, and fill plant operations firsthand.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work area, and understands that good customer service extends from the showroom to the loading dock. If that sounds like you, we would be glad to hear from you.
