Key Responsibilities
As a lead technician, you will be the technical authority on-site, responsible for the execution and quality of complex AV installations.
- Lead and direct installation crews (both internal and subcontractors) on large, complex projects, ensuring work is completed to specification, on schedule, and within budget.
- Perform and oversee advanced installation tasks, including rack fabrication, system wiring, cable termination, and equipment mounting.
- Act as the primary on-site customer liaison, managing day-to-day communications, coordinating with other trades, and escalating change requests to the Project Manager.
- Conduct advanced system testing, including point-to-point verification, control system programming support, and DSP field loading to ensure full system functionality.
- Read and interpret complex electronic schematics and architectural blueprints to guide project layout and execution.
- Maintain rigorous site safety standards, manage all tools and equipment, and complete required job documentation accurately.
Qualifications
We are looking for a professional with extensive field experience, proven leadership ability, and deep technical expertise.
Must-Have Skills and Credentials:
- A minimum of 6-8 years of professional audiovisual or related electronics installation experience.
- A valid and current AVIXA CTS-I (Certified Technology Specialist – Installation) certification is required.
- Expert-level knowledge of AV systems, network integration, and low-voltage cabling standards.
- Proven ability to lead site teams on complex projects, with excellent client-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in using hand and power tools, test equipment, and interpreting technical diagrams.
- A valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal education in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
- Confirmed experience in a formal Project Site Lead role.
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
