Delta Facilities Management, part of the Compass Group Australia network, is seeking experienced Cleaners for Defence work sites in Wagga Wagga. You will be responsible for cleaning accommodation rooms and common areas, preparing rooms for guests, and maintaining both floor and wall surfaces to a high standard. This is casual employment, but it is stable, scheduled work at a site where security and presentation are non-negotiable.

Our LEAP project is a Defence contract for the supply and operation of living-in accommodation for single members of the Australian Defence Force . Blamey Barracks in Wagga Wagga is one of these sites. Our team does not just clean rooms. We ensure that ADF personnel have clean, safe, welcoming accommodation to return to after training. It is essential work, and we take it seriously.

Key Responsibilities
You will be based at Defence work sites in Wagga Wagga, working Monday to Friday on a casual shift arrangement. Specific site locations include Blamey Barracks .
- Clean and prepare accommodation rooms and common areas to Defence and Delta FM standards.
- Maintain floor surfaces and wall surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Operate specialised cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Clean premises and equipment, ensuring all areas are hygienic and presentable.
- Prepare rooms for incoming guests, including setup and final quality checks.
- Perform cleaning tasks at high levels, including walls, vents, and fixtures.
- Complete all required documentation and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to site security protocols, WHS requirements, and chemical handling procedures.
- Undertake pre-employment medical assessment including Drug and Alcohol testing, and provide a current Police Check .
Schedule: Monday to Friday. Hours are structured to allow for school pick-up and drop-off .
Qualifications
Due to the secure, Defence nature of this site, the baseline requirements are firm.
You must have:
- Full Australian Citizenship (mandatory). Permanent residency is not sufficient for this site .
- A valid Australian driver’s licence and reliable transportation to access the Defence base.
- Proven experience in a similar position as a cleaner, housekeeper, or commercial cleaner. You understand the standard required.
- Strong attention to detail and genuine pride in your work. You notice what others walk past.
- Excellent time management skills – you complete scheduled tasks within shift windows without compromising quality.
- A positive, friendly, and professional attitude. You interact respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and Defence personnel.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including Drug and Alcohol screening.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current Police Check.
It is highly advantageous if you have:
- Chemical handling experience. You understand dilution rates, contact times, and safe storage.
- Previous experience in Defence, government, or secure site environments.
