Key Responsibilities
You’ll be part of our afternoon-night cleaning team, delivering consistent, high-standard results across commercial and retail sites in the Newcastle, Thornton, and Maitland areas.
- Complete scheduled cleaning duties across client sites—offices, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and education premises
- Work both independently and as part of a small, coordinated team, following site-specific cleaning specifications
- Use commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively (full training provided including specialised machinery)
- Maintain high cleaning standards with genuine attention to detail. We don’t do “once over lightly”
- Communicate clearly with your supervisor and report any site issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Represent Gabes professionally. You’re the face of our company on-site, and our reputation depends on you
Shift pattern: Afternoon-night shifts, Monday–Friday. 10–33 hours per week. No split shifts just consistent, predictable rosters .
Qualifications
We’re looking for reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Experience is welcome, but it’s not the main event.
You must have:
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport non-negotiable. You need to get yourself to and from sites across Newcastle, Thornton, and Maitland
- Reliability and punctuality our clients schedule their cleaning around our arrival times. We need people who show up when they say they will
- Willingness to learn we’ll teach you our systems, equipment, and standards. You just need to be keen to get it right
- Comfort working both independently and in a team – some sites you’ll run solo; others you’ll be part of a crew
- Good attention to detail you notice the corners, the dust on high surfaces, the streak on the glass
- Legal right to work in Australia
It’s an advantage if you have:
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) – or willingness to obtain one. Many of our sites are in education and healthcare sectors
Experience is not required. We provide full training on equipment, products, and site specifications.
