We are looking for a Courier/Driver to join our Rolla, Missouri team, operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a non-DOT position, not regulated by Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, but it is still a safety-sensitive role that requires constant alertness, good judgment, and a customer-focused mindset. You will deliver and pick up packages, check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features, and provide courteous, professional service at every stop. No prior experience is required just a High School diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier packages with appropriate equipment or assistance. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently on a designated route, delivering and picking up packages in a timely manner.
- Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service to customers at every stop, representing the FedEx brand with a neat appearance and positive attitude.
- Verify shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Complete all required paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and legibly.
- Lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted; use appropriate equipment and/or request assistance for packages exceeding 50 pounds.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely in accordance with all company policies and traffic safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and traffic safety officials as needed.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle interior and cargo area.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support branch operations and customer service commitments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- No prior experience required we provide comprehensive training.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle assigned.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times.
- Neat, professional appearance this is a customer-contact role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous delivery, courier, or customer service experience is an asset but not required.
- Familiarity with the Rolla, Missouri area and surrounding routes.
- Experience operating cargo vans or similar non-CDL vehicles.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Consistent, predictable daytime hours with weekends off.
