Key Responsibilities
As a Driver with LifeCare, you will be a key part of our patient care logistics. Your primary duties will include:
- Safely operating non-emergency transport vehicles to provide timely transportation for patients to and from medical appointments, dialysis, and other healthcare facilities.
- Assisting Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) with the careful moving, lifting, and securing of patients during transport.
- Maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and mechanically sound vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Providing professional, courteous, and compassionate service to all patients, their families, and facility staff.
- Accurately completing all required trip documentation and logs.
- Adhering to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and medical transport protocols.
Qualifications
We are looking for responsible candidates who meet the following requirements and are willing to obtain necessary certifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License with no negative points.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Must obtain and maintain the following certifications (LifeCare provides a clear path for most):
- EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certification) – Provided by LifeCare (free for full-time employees).
- A strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate demeanor.
