Key Responsibilities
In this varied and hands-on role, you will be the operational linchpin for our Kaikoura base. Your key duties will include:
- Providing exceptional front-of-house customer service, managing enquiries, bookings, and reception duties in person and via phone/email.
- Supporting safe and efficient flight operations through tasks such as passenger briefing, weight & balance data entry, and flight following/monitoring.
- Assisting with ground handling, including the safe loading/unloading of passengers and freight, and managing people in operational areas.
- Performing key administrative and accounts support, including AP/AR, cash handling, reporting, and providing remote reception cover for other bases.
- Responding calmly and effectively to operational changes, such as weather disruptions, and participating in emergency response procedures as required.
- Undertaking courtesy transport for passengers and supporting wider business admin and marketing activities as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for a capable and reliable individual who brings the following:
- Proven experience in a customer service role, ideally within aviation, tourism, or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and confidence with numbers and basic accounts processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- High integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- The capability to work autonomously, manage your own workload, and be a collaborative team player.
- Proficiency with business systems; experience with Xero and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
- The ability to meet all requirements for an Airport Identity Card and have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
