Key Responsibilities
As a professional driver with our regional fleet, you’ll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of retail goods.
- Safely operate a late-model dry van tractor-trailer on a regional route covering Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, and Kentucky.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain all required documentation and electronic logs.
- Handle freight that requires touch, using provided equipment like a pallet jack and lift gate for loading and unloading as required by the customer.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations and policies at all times.
- Represent Ryder with professionalism at every customer location.
Qualifications
To join our team, we require drivers who meet specific safety and experience standards.
- You must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Class A CDL with all necessary endorsements.
- You need verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience: 9 months within the last 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
- You must pass a Ryder road test, a DOT physical, a drug test, and a comprehensive background and motor vehicle record check.
- A clean driving record and a history of safe operation are essential.
- The ability to follow instructions and comply with all safety protocols is required.
