Key Responsibilities

As a Flux-Core Welder on our construction sites, you will be responsible for the precise fabrication and installation of structural and mechanical components. Your core duties will include:

  • Reading and accurately interpreting project blueprints, plans, and diagrams to determine welding requirements and specifications.
  • Performing high-quality Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) for structural and sheet metal installations, including ductwork, metal sheeting, vents, and equipment supports.
  • Selecting appropriate filler metals and welding techniques based on material type, project specifications, and your professional expertise.
  • Coordinating effectively with field labor crews to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  • Preparing materials by grinding, deburring, and fitting metal parts to achieve proper alignment and surface texture before welding.
  • Maintaining a strict focus on jobsite safety by following all company policies, OSHA guidelines, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified and reliable welder with a strong industrial background. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 3 years of Journeyman-level welding experience is required. Proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc (STICK) and Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) welding is a significant advantage.
  • A current OSHA 10-hour or MSHA certification is preferred. Possession of a TWIC card and valid industrial machine licenses (e.g., forklift) are strong pluses.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and materials. The ability to read complex blueprints, perform basic math for measurements, and troubleshoot mechanical issues is essential.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in demanding conditions including heights, inclement weather, and around loud noises/moving machinery.
  • Must possess and maintain a full set of personal hand tools, including welding hood, gloves, grinders, clamps, and stinger.
