Key Responsibilities
In this key workshop role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end fabrication process. Your core duties will include:
- Accurately reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Selecting appropriate materials and preparing metal components through cutting, shaping, bending, grinding, and drilling.
- Performing high-quality welding using MIG, TIG, and/or ARC techniques to join metal parts according to specifications.
- Inspecting and measuring completed work to ensure it meets all quality standards and design tolerances.
- Conducting repairs and modifications on existing metal structures as required.
- Operating a forklift (LF) for material handling and movement within the workshop.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment, including the care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Collaborating effectively with managers and team members to resolve issues and ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
- A formal Trade Certificate in Welding, Metal Fabrication, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding.
- A current LF Forklift Licence.
- Proven ability to read, understand, and work from complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
